- Subclude is a WikiMedia term that combines the two meanings of substitute and transclude into one word. Just think substitute.
- Transclude is a WikiMedia term that combines the two meanings of transcribe and include into one word. Just think include.
A source page that is subcluded into a destination page is reproduced in the destination page just as though the user had performed a one-time copy and paste followed by a save. After subcluding the source and target pages may be edited independently of one another. This is different than the transcluding action of a standard template call because with a standard template call the link to to the source template is retained. If ever the source template is revised then that newer revision will propagate to the destination page.
