There are four VSK5 compatible versions of this game client.

  • 32nd America's Cup (32AC) must be upgraded to become playable with users of VSK 5.

User base[]

There is no publicly accessible database for registered users. There are numerous online clubs which cater to various languages or common interests. In the absence of better data it is interesting to note the growth in membership at the official forum (www.virtualskipper-lejeu.com) since that forum was first started.

Caveats
  • Not all users register at the official forum
  • Some users may register more than once
  • Some forum registrations are bots/spam accounts and not real users

Even with the above caveats in mind it is clear that the late 2008 launch of VSK5 and VSK5Online did not generate as much new member activity as prior releases did. It might be significant that owners of 32AC were able to patch their product to become fully compatible with VSK5. It might also be that expectations of a game update at a time when the newest ISAF RRS were publicly available were not satisfied.
