Yes the model can capsize, it will round up downwind with it being most difficult over 30kts and very difficult over 35kts. If in trouble drop the SPI and raise headsail. | |

The 18ft skiff is fastest sailed flat - use manual trim.
Use Auto trim rounding marks.
Drop SPI early before marks as the boat will just about stop if you are too late once you start heading upwind.
Careful using SPI over 30 knots.

18ft Skiff Model for VSK5 by David Arnold, Lennart and Philippe (maitai) (3D Modelling) and Richard Milton / Laurie Williamson (XML Coding) is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works 2.5 Australia License. The license covers the work done on the 3D model (based on the 2008 18ft skiff rules, model derived purely from photographs) by David Arnold, and later developed by Lennart and Maitai; and the XML coding specific for use in Virtual Skipper 5 and its compatible versions by Richard Milton.
